About Us

Club Mix In Sessions. The best way to meet other club members is through one of our club mix in sessions, which are held every Wednesday and Friday evenings from 6pm and Sunday afternoons from 2pm all year round. These sessions are usually well attended and the club encourages players of all standards to join in. Balls are provided for all of these sessions and guests and potential new members are always welcome to attend up to a maximum of 3 times.

Pre-arranged tennis. Members may arrange their own social tennis around club sessions and matches etc. Courts may be booked in advance by entering your name, time and court number in the club diary. Please refer to the court allocation page for general booking times.

Junior Section. The club has a thriving junior section from ages 7 to 16 years. Priority play times are set aside for dedicated junior play (please see court allocation page) and general group coaching sessions are offered three times a week, which are usually well attended. Inter club matches are now being arranged against some of the local clubs, which will offer the opportunity for competitive tennis. New at the club this year will be the introduction of Mini tennis for children aged from 3 years upwards. (please see junior section for further details).

Tournaments. The club holds regular social and competitive tournaments throughout the year. The tournaments are of varying formats such as handicap, various one day round robin events, doubles only tournaments and the Summer Club Championship. The club also advertises various external tournaments throughout Sussex, which are well represented by some of the clubs members.

Club Teams. For the more competitive types, the club enters various teams into the Sussex County Inter Club leagues. Currently we have 3 men's and 2 ladies teams represented in both the winter and summer leagues. Matches are usually played on Saturday and Sunday mornings. The club also enters 2 mixed teams into the leagues throughout the summer months. These matches are usually played on weekday evenings.

Coaching. Our club coach Glyn Jukes is available for both individual and group coaching. (Please see contacts page)

Floodlights. All three courts are floodlit and available to members. A charge of £1 per person per session is requested. Floodlights should not be used after 22.00 hrs.

LTA. The Club has full affiliation to the Lawn Tennis Association. A benefit to this is club support from the LTA and a yearly Wimbledon ticket allocation.

Public Court. Non-members are permitted to use the public court (court 3) providing it is pre-booked. Bookings and payment are taken at Jake Private Hire located at Wilkins House, Station Road, which can be found just past the station level crossing on the left hand side. A court charge of £4 per hour is requested during daylight hours. Please note that there are some restrictions on booking times (please see court allocation page) and correct footwear (trainers) must be worn at all times.
